The theatre is the realisation of a dream for, Gary McKenzie who ran the supper theatre at The Langoustine By The Sea and Gary Camps who was also previously involved in the The Langoustine By The Sea.
Gary McKenzie approached Gary Camps about opening a supper theatre. Gary Camps thought this would be a great idea as they both felt that Durban was in desperate need for a Supper Theatre that offered great shows & great food combined with excellent service.
The search was on to find an appropriate venue. After scouting around to no avail they decided to find an area where they could create a purpose built Supper Theatre. On hearing about the new developments at The Heritage Market the Gary’s approached centre management about building a Theatre.They then proceeded to excavate in the parking lot where the first purpose built supper theatre was created.
The Heritage Theatre opened on the 18th April 2005
